Introduction

Graduated with a degree in Law before moving on to study PGCE. Ambereen has been teaching in further and higher education for fifteen years. Her career began when teaching A Level law and English as a foreign language to adult learners. She gained her Level 5 subject specialism in ESOL, English and Maths. Following that, she became a Senior Lecturer in higher education for Law and Business.

Ambereen has taught undergraduate and postgraduate students across a broad range of courses. She has also taught and ran several important teaching and learning projects with a focus on curriculum development, assessment and feedback.

As a qualified Assessor, Ambereen has been involved in designing, developing, reviewing teaching activities and materials for various subjects.

Ambereen has been a Lead Internal Quality Assurance for a few organisations. Her duties include supporting the development of scheme of work, monitoring, reviewing and evaluating the quality of assessment processes, verifying assessment decisions, standardisation of assessment activities, observing, identifying and supporting learning and development needs of Assessors in delivery of the qualifications and improving quality of assessment.

Ambereen works as a Standard Verifier for various awarding bodies where she is responsible for undertaking sampling of learner work with defined parameters and rules to establish that assessment outcomes and internal verification processes meet national standards.

Her teaching and lecturing are informed by a keen interest in supporting students from varied educational backgrounds to grow academically and achieve their learning goals.
