Dr. Zubala is a highly organised, professional and self-motivated Food and Nutrition Specialist with a great passion for people’s lifestyle and well-being. She is a Certified Nutrition Specialist from ISSA (International Sports Sciences Association) and Assistant Professor in Dept. of Food Science and Technology, University of Karachi. She joined the teaching faculty in 2006, after completing her M.Sc. in Food Science. She earned her Ph.D. degree in Food Science and Technology, in 2010. She has been teaching in different universities and institutions.

In 2012, besides teaching at University, she began working as Nutrition Specialist and Trainer to play her part in people’s wellness. She has been promoting better nutrition by speaking to mases in workshops and seminars (and also at various health, fitness and lifestyle institutions) about diet, nutrition, and the relationship between good eating habits and preventing or managing specific diseases. She remained associated with Afzaal Memorial Thalassemia Foundation as Nutrition Awareness Co- Coordinator and worked for thalassemia patients for their specific diet requirement. She also worked as a Nutrition Consultant at Al-Ibrahim Eye Hospital in Community Nutrition Development program, where her key role was to develop a healthy meal plan for diabetic patients for different age group, while also taking both cost and community’ preferences into account.

She has been contributing to the field of food and nutrition by publishing more than 14 research paper and has been presenting Pakistan in the shape of her researches in several national and international conferences.

She has also trained number of individuals, who are now working as “Nutritionist” in different organizations. She has appeared on different TV Channels of Pakistan like GEO, Health TV, DAWN News, Indus TV to discuss Nutrition and Lifestyle. She is author of book relevant to her area of expertise, which was published by Scholars press Germany and available online on She was the advisor of first ever magazine “SALAD” of Dept. of Food Science and Technology, University of Karachi, and was also working as editor for different health and lifestyle magazines.
